These are original trials pattern slings for the original 9mm Patchett Machine Carbine. Based on converted STEN slings (marked with a variety of manufacturers marks including'FINNIGANS Ltd /I 1944' and 'ROVER/I 1944'), the modification consists of the removal of the 'pig tail' attachment and its replacement by a blackened spring gate 'dog clip', split through the loop to allow it to be fitted to the sling without having to restitch the webbing.
