These are DUMMY (non functioning) silencers to convert Denix made Mk2 Sten machine carbines to Mk2(S) Silent Stens as used by the Resistance, SAS, SOE and other units and organisations of the British Forces. They come complete with reproduction canvas lace on handguards as fitted to the original silencers.

Made for us, these dummy silencers fit directly onto Denix Mk2 Sten guns with no modification required to the gun. To fit these, the 6 screws are removed from the dummy silencer. The end sleeve is then inserted inside the barrel nut of the Denix and the silencer is rotated to line up the screw holes with the ventilation holes in the barrel nut. The 6 screws are then screwed back into their holes in the silencer, locking the silencer tight to the gun. The canvas hand guard is then slid back over the silencer to cover the barrel nut and hide the screw heads. No special tools are required, just a Pozidrive (PZ2 size) screwdriver to fit the crosshead screws.

These may fit deactivated original Stens, however, there are several different Sten barrel nuts with differing numbers and spacing of the ventilation holes. Additionally, the deactivation process involves welding the barrel nut to the gun. If the wrong type of barrel nut is fitted, or if the welding has left weld inside the barrel nut this will effect the fitting of these to a deactivated Sten. If you wish to fit one of our dummy silencers to a deactivated original Sten then we strongly recommend that you physically compare your Deac Sten with a Denix replica before purchasing a dummy silencer. Returns will not be accepted if there is any physical or cosmetic damage to the dummy silencer from an unsuccessful attempt to fit it to a deactivated Sten.
