These are original 'Springs, Back Sight' for all models of the SMLE, Rifle No1 MkIII & III*.

These are the flat leaf springs that fit into a dovetail in the sight base underneath the sight leaf, and provide the tension to allow the sight to stay in position when the range is adjusted. In excellent to new condition, many of these are marked with a Broad Arrow in electric pencil, but are otherwise generally unmarked. The springs are supplied with an original securing screw (not illustrated). These difficult to find screws are not new, having been recovered from scrapped rifles, but are serviceable although with cosmetic issues.
