In this section you will find Armourers special tools made specifically for one weapon or weapon series.
In the British Army these are tools which would normally be found as part of an 'Equipment Table Schedule' or 'ETS' and are refered to as 'Special Tools' to differentiate them from tools on general issue to any non specialist. In some cases tools required to do a specific job are not thought of as being sufficiently used in daily work to warrant having them made, in which case a drawing is provided and if required Armourers can make them themselves. The Lee Enfield bolt head wrenches, the No8 Rifle Trigger Profile and the Browning Pistol '3rd Hand' are all good examples. In these cases ('originals' being very rarely found) we have made these tools from original drawings where available. Gauges will be found in a seperate section of the website. Some weapon specific User tools are included here if they would normally be required by an Armourer to carry out repair or inspection tasks on weapons.
As with the tools found in the 'Armourers General Tools' section, whilst we will guarantee reproduction or replacement tools as being fit
for purpose (subject to normal wear and tear and when used for their
intended purpose) for a period of 6 months from date of purchase,
original tools offered here (unless specifically stated otherwise) are
offered as collectors curios only. As we have no way of knowing their
history or the original conditions under which they were manufactured,
common sense must be exercised before and when using these tools for
their originally intended, or other, purpose.
