These are original, unissued, foresight retaining screws, used on No4 series rifles (including the 7.62mm L42A1 Sniper rifle) fitted with Mk1 ('split') foresight blocks.

Easily identifiable, these screws - instead of having screwdriver slots - have a raised piece requiring a slotted tool to do up or release them.
