These are keys, or screwdrivers, for use on the No4 Rifle foresight blade screw, as fitted to the 'split' foresight blocks.

Described as 'replacement' due to being of our own design and made for us, these tools are an improvement on the original (issued) design which was a straight shaft fitted into a wooden handle. The original tools are bulkier, but all to frequently ineffective due to the shaft turning within the handle - being basically glued in. These tools are made from a single piece of steel bar with a loop handle, easy to carry in a pocket or in your shooting box, and easy to grip in the wet or when wearing gloves. The slotted tip is designed to fit snuggly onto the raised lug on the screw head to avoid slippage, and for those screws which seat below the front face of the foresight block, the shaft is sized so as to fit inside the block - giving extra support to loosen a tight screw or to nip it up firmly when it is being tightened.
