These are aftermarket, bolt on, adaptors for converting M16 Rifles and M4 Series Carbines with carrying handle iron sights, to a Picatinny rail for mounting a range of optical sights.

Machined from high grade aluminium alloy, the adaptors have a black anodised finish. They attach to the carrying handle by the means of a single captive steel screw and a thumb nut. No machining is required, the bolt simply drops through the existing hole in the centre of the top face of the carrying handle, tightening the knurled steel nut pulls the adaptor down between the sides of the carrying handle and makes it a snug fit with no movement. Removal is the reverse procedure.

The adaptor rails are in new and unused condition. They carry no visible marks to indicate their origins.
