These are original NOS Latch Springs for the L2A1 and L2A2 Sight Unit Infantry Trilux sights, better known as SUIT sights.

The latch spring provides tension to the release lever when raised and additionally and more importantly retains the sight in position on it's mounting when in use. The illustrated spare parts list describe this part as a 'clip'. The first versions of these springs were replaced in service by this version as the earlier ones were prone to loose tension or break, meaning that the sight would fall off of the mounting or move when fired meaning that mainaining zero was impossible. The springs offered here are the later and stronger version.

Changing these springs is a simple but awkward job! Patience, good light and a strong pair of good pliers are required - be warned!
