These are original 'Screws, Inner Band' for the SMLE, Rifle No1 Mk III & III*.

These screws are found on the underside of the fore-end just to the rear of the 'Band, Outer' (often called the centre band). They attach to the inner band which is fitted directly around the barrel at about its mid point, and pull the barrel downwards. In conjunction with the nose cap stud and spring, they keep the barrel under tension and assist in dampening the resonance of the barrel on shot release.

The screws are in good to excellent condition.
