These are Blank Firing Attachments (BFA's) for the L2 series, 9mm Sterling sub-machine gun (SMG).

Turned from solid steel, the BFA is attached to the SMG via high tensile cap head screws, which replace the barrel screws, locking the BFA securely to the weapon. Once fitted they enable the SMG to fire standard 9mm blanks in semi or full automatic mode. They are painted golden yellow, making it obvious that the gun is converted and not to be used with live ammunition.
