These are new and unissued, 8 Inch, Engineers Hand Files, Knife Profile, 2nd Cut grade.

The hand file is an essential part of any Armourers tool kit. These particular files are of the 'Knife' profile, that is that they are tapered from the 'safe edge' back to the opposite edge which is 1 file tooth thick. These are massively useful for opening out slots in metal, and of a good size for many other general filing requirements. The 2nd cut grade is ideal for removing a useful amount of metal whilst still maintaining a good 'file finished' surface.

These particular files are manufactured in the USA by the 'Simmonds Saw Works' of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and each is stamp marked as such.
