These are original Extractor sets for all Marks of the .303" BREN Light Machine Gun.

The set consists of an Extractor (often refered to as the 'Claw'), an Extractor Stay and an Extractor Spring. A spare set of these was carried in the Section Wallet in the small parts tin with every BREN Gun. Fitting these to a breech block is simplicity itself and no tools are required. The Extractor is fitted first, sliding into the guide rails at the base of the Breech Block, The spring is then slid over the stem of the Stay and the tail is then inserted into the back of the slot cut in the breech block behind the extractor and the head of the stay then pushes into the groove cut in the rear face of the extractor. To remove, cup your hand around the underside of the extractor and push the extractor downwards with a thumb until it slides free of it's guide rails and catch the stay and spring in your cupped hand.

These sets are in excellent condition, many appear to be unissued, although all come to us covered in layers of grease and assorted filth! All are in good serviceable condition.
