These are original Springs, Piston Post, for all marks of .303" BREN Light Machine Gun. These are also correct for the later 7.62mm L4 series of converted Brens (LMG).

The springs are mostly unissued and come in a variety of finishes from chemically blackened through to bright steel. All are in excellent condition with no corrosion. They have been heavily greased before being put into store, we will remove the majority of this before dispatch. A spare piston post spring was carried in the small parts tin in the Section Wallet with each Bren Gun.

The piston post can be found on the piston extension. This rides inside the breech block and strikes the tail of the firing pin after the working parts slam forward and lock, when the trigger is pressed. To prevent undue wear, or the piston post shattering on shock of firing, the spring sits inside the piston extension and acts as a buffer for the piston post.
